Student of the Month
For January 2008, I
have
chosen.............

JACOB HILTON
Jake is a 6th
grader
at Livonia Central.
He is a good student and is really enjoying school
this
year. Something interesting about Jake is the fact that he has a twin
sister
(Kasey) and, believe it or not, they have different
birthdays. And,
even though neither would probably admit it they are pretty close. Jake
has
wanted to take Karate for some time and when I did a demonstration for
his
class he was definitely hooked! Jake attends our Wednesday evening
class and
currently sports a yellow tip belt around his waist. With his love of
martial
arts I'm sure that his progress will be rapid and I foresee a yellow
belt in
the near future. Jake is willing to try a variety of techniques and
does take
direction well. To attain his Yellow belt, next on his plate will be
the
mastery of his 40-basic movements and Neptune Kata.
Considering Jake's
ability to learn and retain what is asked of him these new
requirements
should pose no problem. In addition, his sparring will continue to
improve as
we spend more time concentrating on a number of combination and timing
exercises.>
Family is very
important to Jake and he loves spending time with his aunts, uncles and
grandparents. In addition to karate, Jake enjoys baseball, photography
and
video and computer games. According to his mother he is very helpful
around the
house and is always ready to help out when asked. His Mom,
Leah, is his #
1 fan and supporter and always makes sure he gets to class weekly and
practices
at home.
Congratulations,
Jake,
on being named Ki Do Karate's
January 2008 Student of the Month.
